Due to the uniquenes of their nature, the findings of the Mikri Doxipara-Zoni exacvation became soon very well
known, not only in Thrace but also to the whole of Greece and abroad. Up until today they have been
presented in many Greek cities, London, Paris, Prague, Ivailovgrad (Bulgradia) and Edirne (Turkey).
During the first years of the excavation, the greek Alpha channel produced and aired a short documentary film
regarding the findings along with the everyday work of the archaeologists and the conservators.
History Channel produced a series of documentaries regarding transport in the acient world which included sceens
from the horse burials and the cariedges of the tumulus. Furthermore, articles about the excavation have been
published by various greek and european newspapers.
Visitors of the site are informed by pumflets in four languages including english, german and dutch.
On September 30th 2006 a scientiffic meeting was organized in Orestiada
titled Horses and Wagons in the Ancient World . The paticipants included
archaeologists from Greece, The Netherlands and Bulgaria. The proceedings of that meating have been published and
